For as long as I can remember, I have felt inspired by the Earth; learning from its gifts selflessly given as they echo within my own being.
As we recognize our place in this circle of life, we find ourselves wrapped gently in the embrace of Mother Nature. She confidently holds the balance of all living things – forever evolving and shedding all her yesterdays, seemingly with ease.
She remains sure of herself, and understanding that change is paramount; knowing that it is necessary, and the fundamental basis for life.
Her rhythms reflect to us the value of change.
Seasons shift and days grow longer so we may rejoice in the warmth of summer and rest when the days shrink and sunlight is scarce.
It only takes one look at a healthy ecosystem to see the undeniable importance of biodiversity and working as a community. One could argue that this affirms a need to work together in all realms of nature (humans especially).
You look all around, and you are reminded to respect and honour this marvelous world.
Yet, to care deeply, is to also witness the cracks of destruction seeping in.
Wildfires, hurricanes, earthquakes, rising temperatures, droughts – at base, these events are integral to life on earth. Each with the purpose of striking balance. But now, the scales are ever-tipping, and we are facing irreversible ruination of our once harmonic home.
Artemis Musings is a love letter
– a way to express my gratitude for all things extraordinary in both natural and human-made worlds alike. It’s a space to share and receive genuine thoughts, wonderings, and images of a life in the midst of a world endless in its changing.
