How lucky are we? To live on a planet so diverse, alive, and sublime as this?
To bear witness to nature – a sort of mirror which echoes back for those who listen.
If you look closely you’ll see the seasons of your own divine self unravel much like the seasons of our earth – ever-changing, and ever-growing.
She never ceases to evolve and change.
She shows courage upon the face of adversity.
She knows herself and is unmoving in her endless journey of being.
I have always held a passion for nature and earth conservancy. Since I was a child, I have marveled at birds, bugs, and beyond. I would become upset when I would see people mistreat their home, and could never understand taking it for granted. I am learning to transform this anger so it may instead manifest itself into an undying love for all living things and a passion for stewardship.
I pay my respects with a walk in the woods, a skip in the sea, or a bask in the sun.
I observe and I learn.
I listen and I cry.
I feel and I see.
She has much to give, and it’s our job not to take, but to utilize them in the transformation of our own inner worlds, so we may give back ten-fold such abundance.
Happy Earth Day, folks. May you take time to witness your nature and honour hers. Whether you broaden your knowledge, sing in the woods, or sit on the earth, take a moment to recognize her efforts today (and every day)!
M.
